Your community requires that you obtain liability insurance to protect the community against damages for which you are liable including damages from fire, smoke, explosion, backup or overflow of sewer, water, and falling objects. The minimum level of required insurance will be set forth in your lease and provided by the leasing staff.
AssetProtect is liability insurance designed to satisfy the minimum insurance requirements of your community. Your community has chosen AssetProtect and negotiated a low-cost rate to make it easy for you to meet these requirements.
Residents who enroll in AssetProtect Insurance have easily satisfied the liability insurance requirement in their lease. There are not additional applications to complete or quotes to obtain. Once enrolled, the resident can pay the low-monthly premium with the monthly rental charges. Sign-up is hassle free, and residents do not need to worry about insurance companies trying to upsell for coverages that are not wanted or needed.
Simply click Enroll at the top of this website, enter your zip code, select your community, and enter your contact information. Your approval to live in the community automatically qualifies you to enroll in AssetProtect.
AssetProtect includes a personal contents coverage endorsement, and most communities elect to include this endorsement with the policy. The coverage extends to specified named perils and may be narrower than a traditional renters insurance policy. For additional coverage details including information on limits of liability and deductibles, please refer to the evidence of insurance page or consult a licensed LeaseTerm Solutions representative.
You may choose any insurance provider to obtain the insurance coverage required under your lease. AssetProtect is your community's preferred partner offering a low-cost option with pre-approval.
You must furnish evidence to your community that the minimum required insurance has been obtained through another carrier prior to occupancy of your apartment. If you choose another carrier, you must list the community as an "additional insured/loss payee" on your insurance. Failure to obtain this insurance, or letting it lapse, puts you in breach of your lease agreement. Your community may then purchase the required insurance on your behalf, and you will be responsible for reimbursement of all costs and expenses.
Renters insurance is purchased by the resident. AssetProtect is purchased by the community, and residents become insured by enrolling in the community's commercial policy. Renters insurance premium are typically DOUBLE the cost of enrolling in AssetProtect.
